seafoam is back and will stay with us for a little while. after the revelation of his latest productions, -lost tape 98 project- presents some special tracks produced in the late 90s / early 2000s. when we got this original dat of -hybrid- release in order to re-edit it, what a big surprise to discover other original tracks that were never released. so we decided to sign our 3 favorite tracks on rue de plaisance s sub-label : « rue de plaisance re-issue ».

suction records is thrilled and honoured to announce the reissue of d arcangelo s self-titled debut ep for rephlex, the legendary uk label run by aphex twin and grant wilson-claridge from 1991-2013. d arcangelo are the italian duo of brothers fabrizio and marco d arcangelo, active in the underground electronic scene under various aliases since the early 90s, and still going strong today. released in 1996, their rephlex debut -d arcangelo- was one of the first releases to make a firm connection between contemporary idm/electronix and the sound of 80s synth pop. the 3 tracks on side a are ripping, industrial-strength electronix, as fierce, crunchy and menacing anything aphex twin himself had released at the time. in sharp contrast, side b s 3 tracks are playful, clean and melodic instrumental synthpop, with clear synthetic references to bands like depeche mode and omd. it was a sound that was certainly not in fashion at the time, and helped the ep stand out in 1996, for that very reason.

andrew numb makes his debut on modelhart with the calling ep. he drops 3 tracks with a remix by reggie dokes. the title track calling is a deep techno track inspired by 90s classical detroit techno. reggie dokes drops the tempo and make a slower house tweek of the same title track. on the flipside andrew drops 2 tracks for the dancefloor in the from of seashores and the filters are back!.

after debuting on uttu back in 2013 lake haze returns to the fold with 2 epic 90s goa-inspired-house-jams for the freaks! backed with an incredible bleep n bass remix from dj boring.

italian house bastion vibraphone records has more than proven itself in the realms of classic deep house, but this new release from knlb certainly speaks to the new age of the label. the unknown producer makes a stunning entry with -second wind-, an effervescent breakbeat number that harks back to classic 90s mo wax sounds with its resonating piano licks and gritty drum samples. -apollo- meanwhile creates an interesting variation on the dub techno template with a wealth of instrumentation cavorting around a tripped out chord stab, and then -initialize- drifts off into blissful deep house meditation atop a purposeful beat. minimono swoop in to inject some direct funk into their remix of -intialize-, and a very fine job they do of it too.

make love in public spaces is a new but not so mysterious offshoot of a label which will be familiar to anyone who has been to a certain erotically charged discotheque with a big heart in east london over the last 4 years. they launch with a three track release from adesse versions that recasts underground 90s classics of some vintage in his own inimitable style - the lead track is destined to get club play for months to come thanks to its deft vocal hook. adesse versions is the anonymous alias of a techno producer with previous work for ostgut ton and curle, showing his house side and who you will no doubt recognise from his most recent work for trus mes prime numbers label as adesse... ltd stock

kid drama’s debut metalheadz release is one that is set to shake up this 4-year-old alias as he heads in a direction that’s slightly more focussed on the dancefloor, whilst managing to subtly retain some of the elements that have seen him become so loved in the deeper and more experimental side of drum and bass. the ‘trife ep’ proves how much of a talent kid drama is, from the savage bassline in ‘brutal d’ to the late 90s techstep vibes of ‘articulation’ all the way to ‘payback’, which is a track that could have easily come out under his and boddika’s instra:mental moniker. this is an extremely well-rounded project and one we’re delighted to be releasing on metalheadz.

glyn -bigga- bush began his production career with rockers hi fi in the early 90s, co-writing several studio albums, a host of remixes and the infamous dj kicks - the black album. in 2000 he went solo as both biggabush and lightning head, making albums for sonar kollektiv and stereo deluxe as well as many more remixes. his sound reflects his love of dub reggae, analogue synthesisers and intricate rhythms, with influences of samba, afrobeat, the deep dubscapes of rhythm & sound and most recently the more interesting end of 140bpm bass music. this ep is his first vinyl release since the late 00s and takes in a number of bass-heavy rumblers with classic biggabush twists and turns, starting with the steppas delight of mangrove monkey, relentless subs and skanks of sounds & blues, post-dubstep breaks on dash way com and finishing with a minimal 4/4 fx soundscape on footsie index.

the release opens with brian s proper dun one , a track which caused a twitter meltdown on alan s profile when he first started playing it at the tail end of 2016. loaded with sharp and pounding drums, this is an ethereal experience from start to finish and packs a real punch. it s a no holds barred, certified main room anthem. wait a second feat. mc r1bbz has been a staple of adam beyer s sets of late and has been getting a lot of air time on drumcode radio. this rave inspired track takes a raw, stripped back approach and delivers a real killer blow. alan sampled the vocals of mc r1bbz from an ltj bukem tape pack from the early 90s and the record tips its cap to early jungle raves around the m25. the release closes with trance, init? , a homage to alan s days first and foremost as a raver before he became a dj, with his non-purist attitude when it comes to electronic music shining through. the breakdown is sure to be a hands in the air moment at festivals all over the globe this summer.

following their eponymously titled 2016 arrival on midlands graded imprint, as well as a recent followup on dark entries, solitary dancer return to the label on which they made their debut. once again, this three-track 12inch blends electro, ambient, and acid to superb, undeniably modern effect. with a running time of nearly 12-minutes, the title track transmitting to heaven is an ambitiously sweeping cut that subtly moves through its various shades, from electro and acid, to strobe-lit 90s rave. the b-side kicks off with birth of saturn, built around an arpeggiating synth that shifts and morphs throughout the track as the intensity ascends. the 12inch closes off with ‘at the end of the corridor of love, a loss’, a slow burning ambient piece that is as sombre as it is cinematic.

o celebrate the 25th anniversary of ugkãs first album, get on down goes the extra mile, presenting it for the first time ever on vinyl. and 2-lp clear vinyl at that, giving the strutting, funky grooves the chance to really stretch out on your system. back in 1992, southern hip-hop was still proving to the world that it could sustain a fan base that was chiefly raised on rap from new york and la. the geto boys and 2 live crew had made strong cases by the earliest 90s, and pimp c and bun b were ready to make their own. most of the trunk-bumping bass comes from drum programs and basic sampling on these tunes in later years they would build their sound into something even fuller and deeper. self-produced with additional work from houston locals bernie bismark and shetoro henderson, the tracks here are minimal, slow and menacing, which matched their lyrical approach quite nicely. you can hear the beginnings of the groups true greatness in these early lyrical workouts ¹ several taken from the regional cassette-only ep the southern way that got them signed to jive with tales of street hustles, relationships and self-reliance in a world stacked against them. they may have been done early-on, but that doesnt mean they arent crucial to ugks legacy cases in point being the three singles: something good, a charismatic update to bill withers use me up, and pocket full of stones (the latter featured on the menace ii society soundtrack). beyond the singles, deeper cuts like iãm so bad, feels like iãm the one whos doin dope and cramping my style made it clear to the world that this crew had the attitude and charisma to make even bigger waves in the years to come.

the man known as dj nature holds a long and illustrious list of releases that spans all the way back to the early 90s, when, as nature boy, the bristol born dj and producer was carving out sample heavy house music for labels like ruff disco records and the underworld affiliated tomato label. his relatively modern re-incarnation, as dj nature, has seen singles and two albums come correct on revered labels like golf channel recordings and jazzy sport. following on from futureboogies landmark 50th release, dj nature drops a heavyweight four track ep on the bristol label, each track promising and delivering summertime vibes in abundance. born lifted, with its deft guitar licks and soulful vocal chops over lazy, hazy beats, is a great example of the nature aesthetics that make his tracks so very popular across the house fraternity. my life picks up the pace, deploying granite hard snares and cosmic chords with dusted vocal samples. on the flip, what it isnt packs some jazz chops with its sampled pianos and saxophone riffs over a discordant beat that swings with the best of them, whilst ep closer loving u more again serves up some delicious summertime grooves with the perfect marriage of deep, funky bass and seductive samples.

takeshi fukushima aka takecha, gwm is one of the most important artist in 90s japanese house music scene. this ep was originally pressed only 100 in 1995 by his own gwm label. gwm is most known as the label where soichi terada had releases.

the mark that the late producer j dilla left upon hip-hop during the 90s and early-to-mid 00s is undeniable. his work with de la soul, busta rhymes, the pharcyde, and of course slum village long been cemented his prominence in the annals of hip-hop history. of the many words one can use to describe j dillaãs legacy, one thatãs not used enough is prolific. dilla made beats constantly. so new dilla compositions are still being discovered. one of the places where those works are still being unearthed is the archives of the neãastra music group, who proudly present here 8 dilla tracks previously unissued on vinyl. dillaãs legacy continues to be shared and celebrated by todayãs hip-hop audience ¹ with help from the tireless efforts of ne astra.

after recently inaugurating the label with shedbug s well-received afterglow ep, flux records are back with their second release. following suit, flux002 includes three original tracks from burgeoning french talent laroze, supplied with a sweet remix from detroit s one and only andres. with its fair share of dance floor heaters the loin des yeux ep exudes an effortless 90s revival feel to it, drawing upon classic us house and acid as the basis for its form and style.

france s dance scene is currently replete with a plethora of fresh and charismatic artists, labels, and promoters, and has all the signs of a movement that s really beginning to take off. hailing from bordeaux, laroze s making his own mark not just as one of the figures behind the country s authority electronic music publication seeksicksound, but also as a dj and producer in his own right.

all of the tracks were created using a limited amount instruments, with a deliberate crossover of old synthesizers like a farsa organ or sequential circuits s pro-one and 90s technology like the roland jd-800. it is curious that lawrence says all his synths are half-broken, since the sounds he extracts from them are absolutely healing.

rendered is the relatively new collaboration between daniel myer (haujobb, architect) & clement perez (14anger), both veterans of their respective genres spanning early 90s ebm and darkwave to more recent destructive techno releases. this fresh offering via fleisch combines both of their signature styles into a colossal and abrasive 31 minute rhythmic barrage.

pavel ludin returns to poker flat wax with a gripping four-tracker showcasing his myriad of talents. born and raised in eastern siberia, pavel iudin found his way to the underground scenes of moscow and saint petersburg where he firmly established his credentials. the probe ep finds him at the height of his powers, serving up some serious burners. ‘probe 2&#8242,,,, is a throbbing, deep roller with shimmering synths and a shuffling, evolving groove - one for keeping the floor on lock whatever the situation. ‘halo’ has more classic feel to it, clearly a nod to the chicago masters of the 90s, but maintaining a tough and fresh feel that is all ludin’s own. half way though, things really open up into thick, swingy vibe via a killer bassline and snappy percussion. ‘probe 3&#8242,,,, is more acidic outing - although never resorting to the iconic 303, the track is a lysergic journey into dubbed out tech-house. closing out the ep is ‘groundlevel’ - a driving, loopy groover that uses ludin’s feel for atmosphere and tension to the max. the whole ep exudes a steely-eyed mastery of the studio and the dance floor - making pavel iudin one to watch over the next months.

pedantic record collector and dj, stephen king (aka virgo type), has finally started releasing some of the tracks and edits that he s been working on over the past few years with his vinyl debut on kat records. there s an eclectic range of source material on this ep including early disco rap on dancing heart , chopped up, dusty lounge bar grooves on jazz cigarette and even some 90s new-jack-swing gets the loop and filter treatment on outta my head. packing an mpc, drum machine and an extensive record collection, virgo type s tracks are a love letter to the people and places that have provided the inspiration for his music. dj feedback ennio styles, 3rrr fm, australia - love it, nice to have a lil jazz jam to round things out too!

finnish techno icon mono junk aka kim rapatti joins forces with berlin based freestyle man aka klas sasse lindblad, known for his productions on classic labels like sähkö and moodmusic. pata ep starts with the hard hitting techno title ‘not a love story’, haunting vocals, simple synthline, slicing percussion and deep bassdrum, all u need to make an effect, this must be heard in a big sound system. following with ‘need your lovin’ the ep takes a more electro approach, mesmerising love story with jupiter-8 bassline and 808 beats accompanied with vocals on this track too by mr rapatti. the ep ends with ‘stella polaris’, a production which started as a jam in 2007 in berlin at sasse’s blackhead studios and was finished 10 years later in 2017 in the same location. reminiscing of early 90s electronica time when everything was pure and gold and when these fellows also were starting their careers. ‘stella polaris’ leaves no one cold with emotional themes of analog synthesis and depth of the bass.

“muen” is based on the concepts of “muen”, “kugai” and “raku” all referring to tactical “freedoms” or “liberties” within the structures of medieval japan. a reflection on concepts that have been lost since the seventeenth century, according to historian yoshihiko amino. while “muen” echoes of the seminal early 90s merzbow, playing on the relationship between metal noise and instrumental oscillations, it differs in interaction between the two. where the pure noise used to dominate, the instrumentation has taken over, making the whole soundscape oscillate and vibrate. each side is one long piece unfolding, an ocean of tones and frequencies, a catharsis of sound, dynamics and power. “muen” is a vitally sonic experience from a true master and innovator of electronic music for followers both new and old. “muen” is limited to 375 copies

gents & dandy s are finally back with a 3rd limited 12- vinyl release and this time it s an artist ep by the hands of the greece, athens based achilleas dimitracopoulos, better known as fog. he s contributed to the house music movement since the late 90s and has previously released on labels like noir music, dieb audio, apparel music, seven music, and just recently suena hermosa. collaborations and remix work happened for kindimmer, patrick zigon or even kruse & nuernberg to name just a few.

british producer richard smith creates genre-bending techno that incorporates motifs from the past while presenting the tunes in a de nite forward advancing trajectory. by integrating in uences from 90s electronic music and classics such as daf and severed heads, l/f/d/m presents 4 cuts that are sure to pique the interest of fans of modern techno who have an appreciation for idm, classic detroit techno and are searching for something to diversify their repertoire.

here is the debut release from the new label losers with attitude, a four track compilation we have nothing left to lose-that demonstrates the range of sounds you can expect from us in coming releases. the label is the brain child of aleksey ageyev, a successful la based film and tv producer in who was born in moscow before moving to nyc at age of 16. he has teamed up with his old friend jason szostek of serotonin/schmer records to explore the electronic sounds that emanate from the dmz between house and techno. alexi delano needs no introduction as part of the swedish techno mafia that took over new york techno scene in the 90s delano has been pumping out tracks that have keep dancefloors moving world wide. delano brings his awesome sense of groove to the opening track a.l.n. mike bryant is a well known dj in the new york city underground since he came from the midwest in the mid 90s. he s the label head for intrinsic design. with his a new low moniker he sets out on a dark and soulful journey in sound. lwa labelhead and prototype 909 member jason bpmf szoste s starts side b with a sprawling chill soundscape sunrise on mars from his abide the glide series of digital releases. legendary russian electronic music pioneer anton kubikov is famous for his acid adventures in scsi 9, his label pro-tez records and randomart store in prague. here he has given us a moody acid groove named we have a bridge to close out the compilation.

trusme gets the remix treatment from answer code request, ben sims & pangaea. this is the first of two eps featuring remixes of tracks from the trusme planet 4 album. answer code request takes our future into new territory with two outstanding mixes. remix 1 moves things to a much more sinister & foreboding place. tightening the feel & tension of the original with all the hallmarks of classic berlin techno. remix 2 winds up & coils the track into a searing workout of early 90s hardcore breakbeat. ben sims takes control of ring round heart, pushing the tempo & creating a whole new urgency in the track. this is proper no nonsense heads down business & tight as you like. the mix builds excellently well & manages to produce an epic amount of feel and emotion, dropping in & out of the groove with a sneaky breakbeat & vocal dubs. pangaea tackles one of the albums more esoteric tracks in the unexplained. he manages to work a wonderfully intriguing steppers beat which drops from nowhere after the highly beguiling metronomic extended opening. the tracks are getting plenty of play & plaudits from likes of ben ufo, dj deep, bicep & anthony parasole.

slammin 90s styled house

it really feels like we (aka mad mats & tooli) have been around way longer than 5 1/2 years with local talk, but it s really true what they say, time flies when you re having fun! from what started as a somewhat simple and almost primitive urge to create a small house imprint has now grown into a much bigger affair. we really tried hard to keep the label from getting stuck in any genre (remember 90s house?) and to always keep the local talk relevant, curious, diverse and with a healthy dose of underground mentality. from our very first release with bassfort s excellent moon shadow in the summer of 2011, we had a crystal clear vision of what local talk should represent...house music in any way, shape or form! over the years we released soulful, disco, jack, afro, vocal, deep, jazz, tech, latin, old school, acid, uk, berlin, new jersey, detroit and of course chicago inspired house music. if it made us bump...we put it out! this brings us up to today and about +80 releases later. we thought about how we best could sum up these first 5 1/2 years and immediately the image of blaze s classic album 25 years later popped up. besides the fact that it s an amazing album cover it also a good representation when different musical genres fuse together. it s not strictly a house album but just as well a r&b, reggae and soul album. this fusion and variation of house sounds is something that we ve tried to capture on our 5 1/2 years later compilation, split into two parts. on part 2 you ll find a high energy disco rub from parisian s3a, a truly deep and soulful vocal jam from boddhi satva & sly johnson, a deep uk garage production from smbd (aka simbad), a dark and electronic affair from toto chiavetta (yoruba) and finally a musical acid number with that magical bristol touch from newcomer marcel lune. all in all we think we got most angles covered and hopefully this album will make you spread that chalk on the dance floor and get down...local talk style

panorama bar regular bwana unites his dual loves of vintage 90s electro and classic progressive trance on this three track ep for duskys 17 steps label. achieving widespread critical acclaim with last years techno homage to the akira soundtrack - capsules pride - on luckyme, bwana has since released eps on his club ready home aus and fort romeaus cin cin, as well as appearing on 17 steps with a cult remix of duskys ingrid is a hybri - itself something of a panorama bar favourite. on this ep, the illustrious producer presents three contrasting but cohesive tracks in the dark acidic three way is the hard way, hypnotic dark trance builder hell is other robots and classic electro homage on patrol for their control. completing the package, the inimitable avalon emerson bends three way is the hard way’ into a glitchy, percussive groover that builds crunchy layers of dark drums around the original’s twisted sonics.

schmer-007 smoking is still bad for you volume 1 is here and contains old school and new cool tracks from all the original schmer culprits plus some loops from our new friends. dietrich schoenemann and prototype 909 dug their tracks out of their vast archives of unreleased originals. dj rx-5 and bpmf delivered some hot new schmers to get us moving again. for the last 20 years we’ve all been tormented by the great issues facing mankind and most vexing among them of course was when will the next schmer record finally come out? i am happy to say that the answer, my record distributing friend, is now! prototype 909 demands that you ( redacted ) the volume! a track recorded in 1997 and finally getting released for the first time here. prototype 909 was a group from new york that made techno in the 90s. since then, the three members of this group all went on to do things. #truefacts dietrich schoenemann has been so busy being one of the last men cutting all the records in the world that he hasnt had time to organize his catalog of unreleased gems. i distracted him with the old look over there trick and stole 8 feet from him while he wasn t looking. (hopefully he didn t recognize it while he was mastering it) the last schmer vinyl was dj rx-5 a taste for crap ep from the then moscow based very underground dj compass vrubell. nina kraviz thought it was so crappy she put a track from it on fabric 91: nina kraviz, so i asked alexey to make some more crap. he did it his shway and this is the result. ( ps he still has all the patterns for the rx-5 from the original release so remaster, remixes and rereleases are in schmer s future, huzzah!) bpmf the original schmer artist had nothing better to do so he kommt back and gave us this track. we love to torture the engineer so we just had to include some loops: rhizome is the alter-ego of moscow wunderkind nikita zabelin. philly based hero/victim has been victimizing soundsystems up and down the east coast with his mad live performances. the wise caucasian is a pseudonym for some super famous london based producer and label owner, or at least thats what he claimed when i picked up his bar tab.
